Career
Lynn started her career in the legislative office for the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin conducting research, and wrote and amended legislation for the Nation.
In 2015, Lynn and her husband Jake became business owners when they purchased the company that Jake was working for – Bay Area Testing & Consulting, LLC (BATC). Although located in Suamico, Wisconsin, BATC provides quality control and construction materials testing for various commercial, residential and state and federally funded construction projects throughout the State. BATC conducts field and laboratory testing on aggregates, concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry.
In addition to Lynn and Jake, BATC employs 4 full-time employees, 1 part-time employee, and 1 full-time summer employee. All BATC employees hold certifications in various sampling and testing methods, including from the Wisconsin Highway Technician Certification Program and the American Concrete Institute.
BATC is on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s official list of Qualified Laboratories and is certified as a Women-Owned Business Entity by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Administration.
Personal
In addition to running a business, Lynn and Jake keep busy with raising their two young sons. Lynn is an active volunteer in her children’s elementary school parent-teacher group, including chairing the school Book Fair. Additionally, Lynn helped establish the Wausaukee Alumni Education Foundation and currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors.
School Year Memories
Lynn’s favorite teacher and subject at Wausaukee school was math with Mrs. Figas. And she fondly remembers participating in Hi-Q with Mr. Heroux and Mrs. Walters. During Lynn’s tenure at Wausaukee school, Lynn participated in many extracurriculars including student council, pep band, solo & ensemble, volleyball, and honor society. And Lynn worked throughout the school year at Jakups Oil and Decor during the summer.
